What is a blog?

A blog is contraction of 'Web Log' . It is a type of website usually maintained by an individual with regular entries of commentary, descriptions of events, or other material such as graphics or video.
A typical blog combines text, images, and links to other blogs, Web pages, and other media related to its topic. The ability for readers to leave comments in an interactive format is an important part of many blogs.
Types Of Blog:
There are many different types of blogs, differing not only in the type of content, but also in the way that content is delivered or written
1.Personal Blogs:

The personal blog, an ongoing diary or commentary by an individual, is the traditional, most common blog. Personal bloggers usually take pride in their blog posts, even if their blog is never read by anyone but them. Blogs often become more than a way to just communicate; they become a way to reflect on life or works of art
2.Corporate blogs:

A blog can be private, as in most cases, or it can be for business purposes. Blogs, either used internally to enhance the communication and culture in a corporation or externally for marketing, branding or public relations purposes are called corporates blogs
What is the difference between blog and website:
The key differences between a blog and a web site is that a blog's main function is being a web log or online diary. As the term "online diary" suggests, this is where a blogger can generate a lot of interesting personal comment and intimate details and information about a particular niche subject or topic that they have chosen to cover. Blogs are quick and easy to set up. Blogs are a less expensive way of advertising your business to the online community.

A web site on the other hand is the official address and location of a web-based business. Just the place you would expect to find e commerce tools and landing pages where customers can make a purchase online. Blogs and websites can work hand in hand with one another.

  1. Nice post, and I’m really looking forward to the article on how to do affiliate marketing. I’ve set myself up with a couple of accounts, I’ve read Digital Point forums so I know a bit about what NOT to do, but I haven’t really a clue how to do it properly!

  2. I have been a regular reader of your blog since the last week. Your blog is very informative and I have started liking your blog very much. It certainly is a great help to me as a blogger since I am pretty new to blogging.

Currently I have a blog on blogger. I always think which of the blogging platforms are the best for making money online with a blog? MoveableType, Blogger or Wordpress? I would certainly like to hear your opinion.

By the way, I would like to thank you for many of the informative posts you have posted! :)
